Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day Health Exhibition, Pharma 2018, here at Expo Centre, he said government assistance was urgently needed to help streamline exports of local products and earn foreign exchange for the national exchequer.

It was claimed that vast majority of the local units have acquired international standards and had been able to maintain the same for past several years. "There exist tremendous potential for these medicines across the globe as 35% of the world population are presently relying on homeopathic mode of treatment," said Dr.

Shah. For standardization of training offered at local colleges offering courses in homoeopathy, he said a full fledged syllabus of homoeopathic medical sciences has also been prepared and is currently with the concerned quarters for necessary review and approval.

The event opened by Deputy Speaker, Sindh Assembly, Shehla Raza, was participated by 67 companies manufacturing herbal, homeopathic and Ayuvedic medicines respectively.

Stalls set up by Mansoora Homeo Pharma, Blossom Lab, Hahnannemann Pharmacy, Pharma Solutions and several others drew significant attention of the people from different walks of life visiting the venue.

Chief organizer of the Pharma Exhibition 2018 and executive officer, Pharma Solutions, Ahsan Ali Danish talked about growing acceptance of homeopathic mode of treatment among the people across the country.

"This is mainly because these medicines holds no side effects and are safe because of nil toxicity," he said. Members of National Homeopathic Council present on the occasion took exception towards the policy adopted by Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan delaying the process of drugs' registration.

It was said that DRAP has not met for quite some time with direct impact on easy availability of many of the homeopathic medicines. Senior homeopathic doctors Dr. Javed Sultan Jadoon, Dr. Syed Junaid Akhter, Dr. Rashid Vayani, Dr.Mujahid islam, Dr. Siddiq Tahir, Dr. Muhammad Azam, Dr. Mujahid ul Islam, Dr.Siddiq Tahir and others were also present on the occasion.
