PA Panel Reviews Promulgation Of New Agriculture Act

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2018 ) :A meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Agriculture held here Wednesday with chairman, MPA Arbab Jehandad Khan in the chair discussed the passage of new Agricultural Act from the provincial assembly.

Besides, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Livestock, Mohibullah Khan, MPAs Mahmood Jan, Ziaullah Bangash, Mohammad Rashid Khan and Secretary Agriculture, Mohammad Israr other concerned authorities also attended.

The committee, beside discussing issues of the provision of water for agriculture and fixing of the prices of milk, prohibition of the slaughter of calves, facilities in cattle markets and provision of subsidies for growers and dairy farmers.

The committee was told that power milk is not useful for health. Therefore, the provincial government should initiate steps for the facilitation of the dairy farmers and increase the production of milk.

The standing committee also notice of the adulteration in milk and directed the concerned authorities for keeping strict check on the shops of milk sellers to take stern action against the adulterate. Furthermore, the committee also directed for guaranteeing healthy fodder for cattle at cheap rates.
