No Comprehensive Survey Of Katchi Abadies Conducted In Sindh, PA Told

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2017 ) :The Sindh Assembly Tuesday was informed that no any comprehensive survey of existing Katchi Abadies had been conducted. This was told by Murtaza Wahab, Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister, on Katchi Abadies on the floor of the house.
The Sindh Assembly session, earlier, started with recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Sharif with Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in the chair. Murtaza said that the Sindh Katchi Abadies Authority (SKAA) has conducted comprehensive survey of 341 Katchi Abadies out of 1013.
He said that there are around 2000 katchi abadies in the province. Replying to a question regarding land allocation for low cost housing scheme of CDGK for commercial use, he said that no land was allotted for the purpose during 2008 to 2013.
Replying to another question regarding Machar colony on Maripur road, he said that it is considered as a katchi abadi and it has been included in the master list of the same as well as it exists on KPT land.
