NAB Recovers Rs. 3601.965 Mln In RPPs Case

National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi has recovered Rs. 3601.965 million in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) and distributed among concerned contractors, sponsors and government department
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2018 ) :National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi has recovered Rs. 3601.965 million in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) and distributed among concerned contractors, sponsors and government department.
The Bureau had filed 11 references in RPP scandal including Karkey Ship, Piranghaib Multan, Sahuwal Sialkot, Guddu Sindh, Naudero II Sindh, Samundri Road, Naudero-I Sindh, M/S Reshma Power Generation Raiwind, M/S Young Gen Power Ltd, Bhikki Sheikhupura, and M/S Gulf Rental Power Pvt Ltd in Accountability Court Islamabad.
The main accused persons in these references are former Minister, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former Minister for Finance, Shaukat Tareen, former Secretary/Chairman PEPCO, Ismail Qureshi, former Secretary/Chairman PEPCO, Shahid Rafi, former Managing Director PEPCO, Tahir Basharat Cheema and others.
One case of RPPs government functionaries/officials and others in award of RPPs contract to M/S G.E Sherkpur (Pvt) Ltd is at investigation stage. Director General NAB, Rawalpindi, Irfan Naeem Mangi on Monday said in light of directions of Chairman, Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal strongly believes in Zero Tolerance Policy against corruption.
