ISLAMABAD, April 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Apr, 2017 ) : National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) on Monday constituted a sub- committee to consider the case of alleged illegal appointments of 159 SST teachers, posted in FATA Secretariat.
The NA body on SAFRON met here at Parliament House, under the Chairmanship of Muhammad Jamal ud Din, MNA. The sub-committee included convener of the committee Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, while Qaiser Jamal, Nasir Khan and Muhammad Kamal Malik will be the members of the committee.
"The committee will probe into the case of alleged illegal appointments of 159 Secondary school Teachers (SST) posted in education Department FATA". "The committee will examine the progress of development works of Zawa dam Bara, Khyber Agency and electrification works in FATA and will submit report to the main Committee within one month." The committee while taking briefing on compliance of the directives made by the then Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during his visit on November 26-27, 2015 to South Waziristan Agency by the FATA Secretariat, showed its great concern over the slow implementation process.
It directed the FATA Secretariat to ensure early compliance of the directives of the Governor KP without any further delay. The committee considered "The Rulers of Acceding States Abolition of Privy Purses and Privileges Amendment Bill, 2017" in detail and approved with certain amendments.
While briefing the committee on the bill, informed that the Ex-Rulers of the acceding states had been allowed maintenance allowance, after abolishing the Privy Purses in section 5 of the Rulers of Acceding States (Abolition of Privy Purses and Privileges) Order, 1972 taking into account the average annual income generated by a state at the time of its accession.
Since the present maintenance allowance is meager and as such needs enhancement in view of inflation and status of Ex-Rulers, therefore, it is appropriate that a suitable increase may be allowed.
The meeting was also attended by MNAs Ghalib Khan, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Iffat Liaqat, Mian Shahid Hussain Khan Bhatti, Aftab Shaban Mirani, Qaiser Jamal, Nasir Khan, Muhammad Kamal Malik and Bilal Rehman MNAs and Minister for States and Frontier Regions and officers/officials of the Ministry.
