NA body assured payment of budget's honoraria in two weeks

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2018 ) :The sub-committee of the Standing Committee on Government Assurances on Thursday was assured that budgets' honoraria for years 2016-17 and 2017-18 had been paid to the employees of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) and Pakistan Television (PTV) deployed while it would be paid to the employees of Associated Press of Pakistan within two weeks.

The Committee which met with its Convener Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana in the chair reviewed implementation on assurances given by the various ministries and departments. Additional Secretary Ministry of Information, Broadcasting , National History and Literary Heritage Shafqat Jalil apprised the committee that the budget honoraria to the employees of PBC and ptv had already been paid while it would be paid to APP's employees in next two weeks.

An official of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) informed the NA panel that a summary had been sent to the Finance Ministry for supplementary grant and it would be paid till February 5.

The Directors Emergency and Parliament House Capital Development Authority (CDA) told the committee that the budget honorarium for year 2017-18 has been paid to the deputed staff while the honorarium for year 2016-17 would be paid within a week.

The case of CDA employees working in the Parliament Lodges was sent to the Speaker National Assembly for approval, they said. An official of Poly Clinic Hospital apprised the Committee that the Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) has raised objection over the summary that it was not approved by Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC).

He said a total of 13 employees performed duty during the budget sessions. The committee directed the finance ministry to resolve the issue within a week. The meeting was attended by MNA Abdul Majeed Khan Khanankhail and officials of concerned ministries and departments.
