ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2017 ) : The Embassy of Nepal in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Wednesday organized "Nepal Musical Evening 2017" here to mark the 57th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Nepal Ms Sewa Lamsal Adhikari said the Nepalese expressed their feelings through songs. She said Nepal-Pakistan relationship was as old as the Himalayas.
Both the countries shared the Ghandara civilization. "Our relations are based on mutual respect, time-tested friendship, and policy of non-interference in the internal affairs." Ms Adhikari said the people of Pakistan supported the earthquake victims of Nepal in 2015 and similarly the Nepalese supported the earthquake victims of Pakistan in 2005.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, who was the chief guest, said,"We want to further expand trade and business relations with Nepal." He said the people-to-people contacts between the two countries would also be expanded.
PNCA Director General Syed Jamal Shah said there was no better way for bilateral communication among countries than arts, music and culture. The melodies of Nepal were worldwide famous, he added. Nepalese vocalists Anand Karki and Ms. Parshna Shakya enthralled the audience with the mixtures of Pakistani and Nepali songs.
