‘Mona Lisa Of Afghan War’ Under FIA Arrest

PESHAWAR, (Pakistan Point News - 26th Oct, 2016 ) : Sharbat Bibi, the renowned National Geographic’s ‘Afghan Girl’ was arrested on Wednesday by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Peshawar. FIA resources said that Sharbat Bibi has been living in the country on fraudulent identity papers. A report has also been filed against three former officers of NADRA for issuing her illegal Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC). She was arrested today from her home in Nothia, Peshawar. FIA has also recovered Afghan ID from her possession. Sharbat Bibi became an international sensation when she was only 12 years old. Steve McCurry, Nat Geo’s photographer, captured the fierceness in her eyes in the Afghan refugee camp in 1984. After years of anonymity, she was again found by National Geographic in 2002.
