Mechanism Devised To Monitor Edible Items Prices During Ramzan

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2017 ) : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Talat Mehmood Gondal Tuesday said an effective mechanism has been devised to monitor the prices of essential commodities to provide relief to the consumers during the holy month of Ramzan.

The DC said stern action would be taken against shopkeepers involved in hoarding, profiteering and adulteration.

Presiding over a meeting to review Ramzan arrangements, he directed the officers to ensure provision of essential items to the general public at controlled rates.

The DC also urged traders to cooperate with the administration in the operation against encroachments. He said during Ramzan mutton meat would be available at the rate of Rs 650, beef meat Rs 300, patree roti Rs 6 and khameeri roti of 115 grams at Rs 8.

He said an effective system would be in place for uninterrupted supply of fruit and vegetable at the designated sale points in the district.
