HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2018 ) :Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani has said the law will take its course if any police officer is found involved in staging the fake encounter in which Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud was killed in Karachi.
"Any official who is involved in the killing of an innocent will face justice," he said while talking to the media at a reception hosted by All Sindhi Pathan Youth Ittehad in Hala Naka area here Saturday.
Siraj Durrani also clarified that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) neither had any personal relation with SSP Malir, Rao Anwar, nor was he enjoyed any special support. "Rao Anwar is not our relative and this perception is also wrong that the PPP supported Anwar," he said.
The Speaker said only the court of law would decide if someone was guilty of killing an innocent or not, adding that the top officials of the province were conducting inquiries of the incident.
Responding to a question, Durrani criticized Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League leader Shaikh Rasheed for cursing the parliament.
"Imran Khan should apologize to whole nation for his words against the parliament," he demanded.
He contended that such derogatory attacks on the parliament would not earn any political advantage to the PTI. Replying to a query, he said the PTI did not exist in Sindh and a bunch of politicians who no longer had public support in Sindh had jumped on the PTI's bandwagon.
The Speaker clarified that the PPP had not formed an electoral alliance with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). He claimed that the party only supported Qadri's stance about justice for the Model Town incident's victims.
The Speaker told that the Sindh Assembly would complete its tenure on May 28 after which the elections would be held within 90 days to elect new legislators. He expressed hope that the PPP would form government in the center, Punjab and other provinces as well in 2018 general elections.
Durrani said that he formed All Sindhi Pathan Youth Ittehad to resolve problems faced by the community.
