Korean Envoy,NHA Chairman For Timely Completion Of Lowari Tunnel

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july,2016) : The Ambassador of Republic of South Korea H.E. Dr. Suh Dong-Gu called on the Chairman National Highway Authority Shahid Ashraf Tarar here on Wednesday. The meeting discussed progress over various projects including China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
They also agreed on the timely completion of the Lowari Tunnel project where Korean firm M/s SAMBU is the contractor. It was also decided to move forward on the proposed Malakand Tunnel for which Korea has already pledged a loan of US $ 78 million through Axiam Bank.
The project is presently in the detailed design stage.(details in attached brief) The Ambassador said his country desired to expand economic relations with Pakistan especially in the field of highway construction and expressed special interest in Huderabad - Sukkur Motorway and Kalakat - Chitral projects.
The Chairman NHA welcomed Korea's interest in these projects and hoped the relations between the two countries will grow stronger in days to come.
