Koral Interchange Opened For Traffic

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2017 ) : Koral Interchange, a significant component of Zero Point-Rawat Signal Free Corridor, has been opened for traffic. Koral Interchange is a precious gift of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the resident of Islamabad.
Special interest of prime minister has led to early completion of the project. Under guidance of the prime minister, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has completed the project in record nine months.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz during his visit to Koral Interchange Tuesday said all concerned deserved appreciation for this achievement.
He said interchange had been completed within nine months despite heavy traffic flow and VVIP movements and completion of the project would make traffic flow more smooth.
Installation of modern LED lights and landscaping work would further increase beauty of the interchange, he added.
Environment Wing of the MCI had burnt mid right oil for landscaping of Koral Interchange, Mayor said. On this occasion, Member Engineering and Chief Officer MCI, Asad Mehboob Kiyani apprised the mayor that the construction work of Koral Interchange started from May, 2016.
He further apprised that cost of interchange was Rs 1.78 billion including construction of fly-over, under passes and expansion of link roads among construction of concreted roads for heavy traffic.
