KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2017 ) : The day dawned with piercing heat in the metropolis on Tuesday, however, by mid day different parts of the city began receiving intermittent showers.
The Sindh office of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, in a forecast in the afternoon, said a strong monsoon weather system from India, heading towards Sindh, had almost reached Karachi, and consequently low to moderate rainfall was reported.
The low pressure, according to the forecast, may gain intensity with possible widespread rain and thundershowers in Karachi as well as other divisions of lower Sindh. Under the influence of strong monsoon system from India, moderate to heavy and very heavy rainfalls are expected in the province during the next few days.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea till September 02. Rain may cause flooding in vulnerable areas of Karachi and other parts of the province.
