ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Feb, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a case regarding illegal construction in Murree. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case.

During the course of proceedings, Additional Advocate General Punjab Razzaq A Mirza appeared before the bench and informed that 27 buildings were demolished in Murree. He said that owners of 140 buildings were creating hurdles.

Upon this, the chief justice asked why administration did not take actions when these illegal buildings were erected. The court sought list of the officers who were working at the time when illegal buildings were constructed.

The chief justice remarked that the court would hear owners of illegal buildings. He hinted that the court can order Punjab University for a survey. He asked what should be done to people who did not want to appear before the court.

If these building owners failed to submit their stance then their illegal buildings would be demolished. He asked if anyone has objections on report filed by Murree administration then they should submit replies.

The chief justice directed the Deputy Commissioner to issue public notice in this regard. He remarked that the advertisement would be issued by local government instead of Punjab government.
