ISLAMABAD, Feb 1 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2017 ) : A divisional bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday reserved its verdict in maintainability of a case challenging the appointments of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.
A divisional bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the Intra Court Appeal (ICA) challenging single member bench decision in maintainability of the case.
The case was filed by Muhammad Anwar and Riaz Hanif Rahi advocate.
The petitioners argued that the ECP's members, listed as respondents in the case, were not eligible to hold their offices as they were retired public servants and had also crossed the age limit of 60 years.
It may be mentioned here that a single member bench of the IHC had already declared this petition as non-maintainable. Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and ECP Secretary, Chief Election Commissioner and ECP members of all provinces had been nominated as respondents in the case.
