Govt To Set Up Forensic Lab For Medico-legal Examination: Secretary

The provincial government has decided to set up a state of-the-art Forensic Laboratory in Gilgit Baltistan to provide quick and authentic reports for medico-legal examination to police and excise department's investigators by enabling them to probe cases in short possible time

GILGIT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2017 ) : The provincial government has decided to set up a state of-the-art Forensic Laboratory in Gilgit Baltistan to provide quick and authentic reports for medico-legal examination to police and excise department's investigators by enabling them to probe cases in short possible time.

Secretary Excise and Taxation department, Ehsan Bhutta expressed these views during his visit to Police Training College Skowar. The Secretary said the forensic lab would also help speedy recovery of stolen vehicles in GB.

He inspected trainings of Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, ASI and Motors Vehicle Examiners (MVE) and met with officers of the training college Skowar. Bhutta thanked IGP GB and Commandant Training College, Zahid Iqbal for providing best training facilities to the officers of Excise and Taxation Department.

The training of 35 trainees including two women officials would be completed in a month and later their passing out parade would be held in which commendation certificates and prizes would be awarded to the position holders. APP/fam/ss/anm
