Govt Paying Special Attention Towards Need Based Research: Rana

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st july,2016) : Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Ahmed on Thursday said the present government was paying special attention towards need base research. Addressing with a symposiums organized by the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) regarding prioritizing research, the minister said that he directed all concerned departments to conduct need based research which is dire need of the industry. He said that our people have full of potential in the field of research and it is need of time to market this talent. Rana Tnveer said that people are not getting benefits from local research due to its miner space. He said Pakistan had made JF-17 Thunder with the assistance of China and also improved its technology more modernize.
The minister said after resuming the charge of ministry, he had increased the budget four time as comparing to previous corresponding years adding that he has directed Pakistan Science Federation (PSF) to make funding to viable products only. He said the Prime Minister has initiated national scheme for the talented students of the country, according to the this scheme 300 talented students from 8th class would be taken across the country and government will bear all their expenses till completing PhD, he added. The minister also appreciated the role of PIMS for treating the solar kids successfully.
He said such symposium will be helpful for conducting better research in the country.
