ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jan, 2018 ) :Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry Wednesday said the government was not afraid of protest movement announced by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief, Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Talking to a private news channel, he said Tahir-ul-Qadri had always protested against democratic system and he wanted justice by holding protests on the roads rather knocking the door of the court.
He said PAT and its allies could not compete Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in the field of politics and performance and they were doing propaganda against the PML-N leadership. The minister of state said political opponents of the PML-N were foreseeing their defeat in next general elections and were feared from the popularity and good governance of the PML-N.
Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was still most popular political leader among the people of the country, he added. Talal Chaudhry said people were supporting the stance of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif regarding rule of law and the constitution in the country and had affiliation and affection with their beloved leader.
He urged all political parties to demonstrate unity and work for strengthening democratic system in the country. He condemned child abuse incident in Kasur and termed it a terrible. Culprits of the incident would not be spared and would be given exemplary punishment to avoid such incident in the future, he added.
