Govt Committed To Promote Technical Education For Development: Minister

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : Minister for Federal Education and p rofessional Training Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said Thursday the government was taking solid measures to promote technical education for achieving socio-economic development of the country. Speaking in the senate during question-hour the minister said as part of such efforts, the NAVTTC under Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme had increased the number of trainees in the existing TVET institutions in different field and trades to meet the demand of trainees both nationally and internationally. He said under PMYSDP Phase-III, training of 25,000 trainees was in progress and 25,000 youth would get training in the next financial year in highly demand driven trades across the country.
He said the training for overseas pre-employment was being managed by Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
However, he added two organizations of Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Trainings were imparting training to persons seeking employment abroad as well as in the local market. He said almost all fields and vocations were being covered for imparting training.
As far as name of vocation highly in demand abroad was concerned, he said Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development received demands for employment abroad but generally vocations in Construction Sector were highly demanded at International level. Meanwhile Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada said during last ten years, 18 meetings of the Council of Common Interests had been convened.
He said NFC award was never discussed in the said meetings of CCI. While Minister for Overseas informed the House as many as 947,718 persons were sent to different countries during the last one year.
