Five Health Officials Flee From Court After Rejection Of Bail In Nawabshah

Five officials of district Health Department including DHO and senior medical officer fled from the Court when their bail was cancelled in the case of death of four children due to measles vaccination.

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2018 ) :Five officials of district Health Department including DHO and senior medical officer fled from the Court when their bail was cancelled in the case of death of four children due to measles vaccination.

The bail before arrest application of all the five accused was earlier approved by the Court and they appeared at the Court of First Additional Sessions Judge for confirmation of bail on Thursday.

After rejection of bail by the Court all the accused managed to disappear. The anti measles vaccination drive was launched early this month throughout the province by Sindh Government and carried out by teams of health department.

The vaccination at Maryam Road and Jam Sahib Road turned fatal when large number of children started pouring at Peoples University Hospital due to serious reaction of the measles vaccination where three children expired one after the other.

The fourth child that was referred to a private Hospital at Karachi expired later. Later on the complaint of Khadim Hussain Brohi uncle of one of the expired child registered FIR against District Health Officer (DHO) Dr.

Ghulam Mujtaba, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Sikandar Mendhro, Lady Health Workers' Supervisor Abida, vaccinator Muhammad Ramzan and Lady vaccinator Tehseen. Police was conducting raids to arrest the escaped accused.
