Excise department introduces Biometric verification for vehicle ownership

The Excise and Taxation Department in Pakistan's capital has announced to launch Biometric verification system for the transferring of vehicles

Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2018) : The Excise and Taxation Department in Pakistan's capital has announced to launch Biometric verification system for the transferring of vehicles. The new system will be mandatory for vehicle buyer and seller from 15th July to transferring the vehicle through a biometric system and after the said date the old transfer letter will become invalid. Recently, in a public notice, the Excise and Taxation Department in Islamabad has announced that the people who are using vehicles under open letter or old transfer letter and have not transferred the vehicle on their name should go to near excise office and transfer the vehicle on their name.

The transfer verification of the vehicle will be done through biometric verification. Moreover, the Excise and Taxation Department in Punjab had also made it compulsory for the buyer and seller to come to excise office to transfer the car to the new owner's name from 1st May 2018. The authority has also warned people who are using cars under the open letter. The computerized transfer deeds would be issued, which will include the complete information of transferee and the buyer.

INP/AJ ============= Security forces kill terrorist, recover arms in Mastung MASTUNG, May 24 (INP): An alleged terrorist was killed and arms recovered from his possession after exchange of fire with security forces here on Thursday. Levies sources said that on an intelligence tip-off, the security forces raids a compound in Spilinji area Dasht in district Mastung of Balochistan. The terrorist taking shelter started firing at security forces and tried to flee. In retaliatory firing of the security force, the terrorist was also killed and arms recovered from his possession. The body of killed terrorist was shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for postmortem.
