ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd july,2016) : National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Ex-Secretary Housing Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Zakiullah along with his brother Zafarullah Khan, Ex-Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Traffic Police for their alleged involvement in accumulation of illegal assets worth Rs.150 million.

The matter was brought into notice of NAB, KPK authorities and taking cognizance of the matter an inquiry was authorized to ascertain real facts and collect requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by accused persons in their name and in name of their dependents. During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the accused Zakiullah remained posted on key portfolios i.e.

Member CM Inspection Team, Secretary Housing. His Brother Zafarullah, Ex AIG Traffic also joined government service and held various portfolios. During their tenures both accused persons piled assets worth millions of rupees in their name and in name of their dependent.

Their illegal properties, disproportionate to known sources of income include: 1. Bungalow at Jinnahabad Abbottabad Cantt, 2. two precious bungalows Shami Road, Peshawar Cantt., 3. house Shadman Colony Warsak Road Peshawar, 4.

bungalow Kakool Road Abbottabad, 5. bangalow DHA Islamabad, 6. two plots in Regi Model Town, Peshawar, 7. precious plot at Abbottabad Cantt., 8. plot at Hayatabad, Peshawar, 9. plot in DHA, Islamabad, 10.

XLI Corolla and Suzuki Cultus. It merits mentioned here that accused Zakiullah was previously arrested by NAB KPK involved in multi-million scam of Mouza Darwaza Nathiagali district Abbottabad at an exorbitant rate, causing huge loss to public exchequer. Inquiry is being actively pursued and more alarming facts are being discovered.

The accused persons will be presented in Accountability Court for obtaining their physical remand.
