DMC Korangi Reactivates Heat-stroke Camps

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2017 ) : The District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Korangi Monday reactivated all its heat stroke camps following a warning by the Pakistan Meteorological Department about soaring temperatures in the metropolis for the next few days.
In compliance to the directives issued by DMC Korangi Chairman Syed Nayyar Raza, heat-stroke camps set up previously to combat heatwave, have been made operational again to deal with any emergency situation in the wake of surge in temperature.
The DMC Chairman directed that the camps established in Shah Faisal, Malir, Model Colony, Korangi and Landhi zones must be provided with needed medicines and essential medical support to heatstroke victims.
The camps should also be adequately staffed and have all needed support for the people inflicted with different health conditions and unable to bear exposure to scorching heat, he added. Raza said special cooling rooms and tents be arranged at DMC hospitals and clinics for those exposed to dehydration.
The DMC chairman also ordered proper and regular cleanliness and prompt disposal of garbage from each and every lane and alleys in the district.
