ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2017 ) :The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq In Indian occupied Kashmir, has said that confining the Mirwaiz to his home every now and then clearly reflects the political vendetta of the authorities against him.
According to Kashmir Media Service, A forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that confining the entire population of downtown area of Srinagar to their homes and placing the entire resistance leadership under house detention and lodging many others in police lock ups revealed the ill mindset and shortsightedness of the puppet authorities.
He denounced the authorities for once again disallowing the congregational prayers for the fourth consecutive Friday at Srinagar's Jamia Masjid and turning the entire downtown into a military fortress.
He termed the action as the worst form of state terrorism.
He said that the Mirwaiz was scheduled to address a Friday gathering at Charar-e-Sharief and pay obeisance at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) but the authorities placed him under house detention in the wee hours.
The spokesman also castigated the occupation authorities for acting as mute spectators over the unabated attacks on the womenfolk and cutting their braids. He said on one hand, they have failed to curb braid-cutting while on the other, the resistance leaders who raise voice against the brutal assault on women are caged in homes.
Not a single person has been nabbed by police, which within no time comes into action to prevent peaceful protests and to arrest youth during search operations and other so-called intelligence based operations, the spokesman said.
