KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2017 ) :Shahmeer Amir, an I.T. expert of the country having gained international recognition in the field of cyber security ethical hacking here on Wednesday identified loopholes in companies' cyber security across the globe.
Addressing a session organized by Usman Institute of Technology to honor one of its prominent alumnus, Shahmeer Amir shared his vision of a safer internet. The young expert, now the Founder and CEO of Pakistan's Cyber Security startup Veiliux also discussed in detail his work aimed at providing security to all kinds of organizations.
Internationally known companies like Facebook, Linkedin, microsoft and the like, all were said to have Veilux to thank for identifying and offering rectifying solutions related to cyber security protocols.
He claimed to have collected over $150,000 Dollars in rewards for reporting bugs in major companies' security systems.
The Director of UIT, Dr. Zahir Ali Syed said entire nation must be proud of Shahmeer for what he has achieved and wish him the best for his future endeavours.
It is students like Shahmeer that set themselves apart and become a shining example making not just Usman Institute of Technology proud, but all of Pakistan, he said. Dr. Zahir Ali Syed also presented Shahmeer Amir with a honorary plaque of "Distinguished Alumnus" to appreciate his outstanding achievements in his field.
Shahmeer who had completed his bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from UIT, Karachi also holds relevant certifications in the field of cyber security from renowned organizations like EC-Council, Mile2, E-Learn Security etc. By profession, Shahmeer is an electrical engineer working on different Internet of Things (IoT) products to make the lives of people easier.
