Customs Sukkur Seizes Cigarettes, Gutka Worth Rs 20 Mln

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2017 ) : The customs Sukkur officials on Thursday confiscated a huge cache of smuggled cigarettes, pan parag (flavoured betel nuts) and other health hazard items around Rs 20 million during an action near Babarlio by pass, Sukkur.
According to Customs officials, a mobile squad of Customs intercepted a truck coming from Multan near Babarlio by pass and upon inspection found a large quantity of above mentioned items under customs laws.
Deputy Collector Customs Sukkur, Mumtaz Ali Ghanghro said that the department was taking measures to curb smuggling of non-duty paid goods, especially smuggling of items, which are injurious to human health. The team after seizing all the goods and vehicle into their custody registered a case of smuggling against unknown persons and started investigations.
