RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Oct, 2016 ) : In order to ensure security of the mourners processions and smooth flow of traffic during Muharram-ul-Harram, the City Traffic Police (CTP) Friday issued a comprehensive traffic plan.
According to the plan, there will be complete ban on parking of any vehicle or handcart on the route of the procession. Chairing a meeting, Senior Traffic Officer Chaudhry Shahid Yousaf said a large number of traffic wardens under the supervision of inspectors and DSPs would perform their duties on city roads during mourners processions.
Special squads will also be appointed to maintain the flow of traffic in the city, he said. Senior Traffic Officer asked the wardens to remove all kinds of encroachments from the processions routes besides keeping a vigil on suspected persons and things.
Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the delinquent officials, he added. He informed, traffic load would be diverted to alternate routes during mourning processions. The citizens can call at City Traffic Police Helpline 1915 to know about traffic situation and alternate routes, he said.
