Committees Constituted To Punish Electricity Thieves

Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Ahmed Butt directed the district administrations concerned to constitute special teams for conducting raids to stop electricity pilferage.
MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2018 ) ::Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Ahmed Butt directed the district administrations concerned to constitute special teams for conducting raids to stop electricity pilferage.
Those who are pilfering electricity, would be dealt with iron hands, he said this while chairing a meeting here on Monday. The district administration, police and MEPCO would form joint teams to punish the persons involved in electricity theft.
The electricity theft could not meet the gap, between production and its transmission. He also directed for nominating focal persons in this regard.
Regional Police Officer Muhammad Idrees directed police officers not to delay in registration of cases against the thieves.
MEPCO chief informed that the department had registered 1500 FIRs against the thieves. City Police Officer Sarfraz Falki also informed the meeting participants that they had registered 106 FIRs in city.
The meeting participants also agreed to develop procedure to resolve issues pending with Pakistan Kissan Ittehad. The meeting participants agreed that nobody would be allowed to cause national loss.
