ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2017 ) :Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday allowed a petition challenging Election (Amendment) Act, 2017 dismissing registrar office's reservations to contact concerned forums.
The petitions were filed by Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and others. It is worth mentioning here that the petitioners have sought the Election (Amendment) Act 2017 to be declared as null and void by the apex court.
The registrar earlier had raised objection and asked the petitioners to approach the relevant forum. The applicants then filed an appeal against the objection.
