Butcher Jailed For Selling Substandard Meat Gilgit

The district Administration here on Friday conducted surprise raid on a meat shop and sent the accused butcher to jail for allegedly selling substandard meat.
GILGIT, May 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2018 ) :The district Administration here on Friday conducted surprise raid on a meat shop and sent the accused butcher to jail for allegedly selling substandard meat.
Accused butcher, Sultan was produced in the court of Executive Magistrate Gilgit, Asghar Khan, who awarded him 21-day imprisonment and a fine of Rs4,000 under Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The accused was arrested during a raid on his shop from where 10KG substandard meat was recovered.
The Executive Magistrate said no compromise would be made on health of people and strict action would be taken against butchers found guilty of selling substandard meat. He directed the administration to expedite campaign against price hikers and hoarders. The Magistrate also urged people to inform administration while seeing any butcher selling substandard meat.
