ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2017 ) :Vice Chancellor, Punjab University (PU) Lahore Dr. Moeen Zafar Thursday said that importance of book reading culture cannot be ignored in the modern era of Information Technology.
The book fairs being arranged by the National Book Foundation across the country to promote book reading habit among readers is need of the hour he said this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of National Book Fair held at Lahore.
The book fairs are being arranged across the country as per directives of Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Division, Irfan Siddiqui to mark 70th Independence Day celebrations, said a news release issued here.
Dr. Moeen Zafar said that these events will help create awareness in the future generations about the importance and value of independence and enable them to play their due role for the development of the country.
He at the outset also appreciated the efforts of National Book Foundation for promoting book reading culture. Director National Book Foundation, Nuzhat Akbar said that books related to Pakistan Movement are also available in book fairs across the country and people are showing great interest in these fairs.
NBF is continuing membership of Readers Book Club to realize the dream of Hamara Khawab, Har Hath Mein Kitab.
