Baba Guru Nanak,Gandhara Heritage Varsities Being Set Up

LAHORE, Sept 15 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2017 ) : Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq on Friday said Baba Guru Nanak International University and Gandhara Heritage University were being set up in the Federal capital.
Talking to the media at his office here, he said Rs one billion each had been approved for the universities which would be increased up to Rs 3 billion each. He said that campuses of both universities would be established at provincial level as well as other countries.
The ETPB chief said that after the 18th Amendment, the board under provincial charter attempted to establish Guru Nanak International University in Nankana Sahib, but a few local lawyer leaders, political workers and mazareen opposed it besides threatening the administration of the board while banners were displayed against the board in Nankana Sahib.
He said that the foundation stone of Guru Nanak University would have been laid until now had some elements not opposes the project. He appealed to people of Nankana Sahib to help implement the master plan, so that the campus of Faisalabad Agriculture University industrial zone, education block, residential block and administration block could be set up to enhance popularity of the city.
The chairman said that the lawyers colony would be established as per his promise and plots would be given to working lawyers having Nankana domicile. He added that residence facility would also be provided to traders, journalists and mazareen as per law.
