AJK Government Approves Family Courts For Ten Districts

MUZAFFARABAD, February 11(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Feb, 2017 ) : The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir approved family courts for ten 10 districts of AJK following directions and move of Chief Justice High Court AJK and Shariat Court, Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal here on Saturday.
According to details, the family courts have started working in seven districts while the steps are underway for establishing these setups in remaining three districts of Azad Kashmir. A detailed meeting was held between Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider and Chief Justice High Court, Ghulam Mustafa Maghal for establishment of family courts.
The government has also approved creating 50 posts on the move of apex court and following procedure seven senior judges were promoted from Grade-19 to grade-20 for seven family courts while for remaining three districts including Muzaffarabad, Neelum and Kotli districts appointment of Grade-20 would be made according to merit through advertisement.
The family courts would decrease the burden on higher court and decide cases within four months. Decision of the PML-N government to establish family courts in AJK was lauded by different walks of life.
The Bar association and people belonging to cross section of society appreciating the decision termed it a historical decision of PML-N. They also thanked Chief Justice High Court, Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal and AJK Premier Raja Farooq Haider for the decision.
