ADRC resolves 100 cases without lengthy litigation process

The Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC) has so far resolved 100 cases through negotiated settlement and without going into the lengthy process of litigation in the district

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2017 ) :The Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC) has so far resolved 100 cases through negotiated settlement and without going into the lengthy process of litigation in the district.

This was stated by Civil Judge ADRC Khanewal Hafiz Muhammad Saleem Tahir and Senior Civil Judge (Admin) Muhammad Zubair Ghauri while addressing a seminar titled "Importance of ADRCs and Role of Civil Society" organized by NGO 'Strengthening Participatory Organization' (SPO), here Tuesday.

They said that total 185 cases were brought to the ADRC with the consent of both parties and 100 cases had been resolved while rest were in the process. They said that they would continue to make untiring efforts to provide justice to the people through ADRC, a facility that enabled litigants get their cases decided speedily without hiring a lawyer or going into lengthy process of litigation.

They pledged to extend full support to local body representatives, civil society forums and reconciliation committees to remove hurdles in way of dispensation of justice to the people.

Chairman District Council Engineer Raza Sargana said that all the chairmen of union councils had been told to form reconciliation committees at their respective union councils to play a pivotal role to extend justice to the people at their doorstep.

He appealed the civil society forums to extend support to enhance capacity of members of reconciliation committees at union councils. Jam Jamshed Iqbal, Regional Director SPO and Amjad Baloch said that mechanism of extending justice to the parties through ADRCs was gaining popularity all over the world.

They said that people were thankful to Chief Justice Lahore High Court for initiating ADRCs in Punjab. A large number of local councillors, UC chairmen, lady health workers and others attended the seminar.
