18 arrested for profiteering, poor cleanliness conditions

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2017 ) : District administration arrested 18 persons including butchers and fish sellers during crackdown on profiteering and poor cleanliness conditions.

On public complaints, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Saqib Raza Aslam directed the initiation of action on which the Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs), Bashir Ahmad and Sohail Aziz conducted joint operation against fish sellers on Ring Road and Charsadda Road and during checking arrested 6 fish sellers for poor cleanliness conditions, profiteering and availability of stale fish.

Similarly, during checking in Hashtnagri area, the officials of the district administration also arrested 12 butchers overcharging consumers while AACs Tariq Hussain and Javed Anwar Kamal collected samples of fresh milk from different areas and sent them to laboratory for test.

Further action will be taken on the arrival of the laboratory report. Deputy Commissioner (DC), Peshawar Saqib Raza Aslam has warned fish sellers to strictly follow the principles of hygiene, otherwise stern action will be taken against them.
