BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2018 ) :Former prime minister and supreme leader of PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday said that 10,000 megawatt electricity was produced during his premiership because of that there was no load shedding in Ramadan this year.
Addressing the Workers Convention in Chishtian, some 150 km of here, he said that there used to be 20 hours electricity shutdown before his government. He said that the menace of terrorism was eradicated during his tenure and peace was restored in Karachi.
China Pakistan Economic Corridor was also initiated during his term. Nawaz said that today was his 70th hearing at National Accountability Bureau court but still no corruption was proved against him.
He said the dual carriageway between Bahawalpur and Hasilpur had been completed and the double road will be extended to Chishtian.
A motorway would also pass through Chishtian, he added. Nawaz Sharif said that several educational institutes and hospitals were constructed by Punjab government in Southern Punjab for which Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif deserved appreciation.
He said that if his party retained power after next general election, he will provide jobs to the youth of Chishtian. He further said that despite the parliamentarians of South Punjab Province Mahaz had left the party, people would still vote for the candidates of PML-N.
Nawaz Sharif appreciated the passion of people of Chishtian who had turned the Workers Convention into a public gathering. A large number of people attended the event. Earlier, PML-N leader Maryiam Nawaz also addressed the gathering.
