The leader of the opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said the parliament will complete its tenure and the senate elections will also take place on time
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jan, 2018 ) :The leader of the opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said the parliament will complete its tenure and the senate elections will also take place on time.
Talking to the media in Latifabad area here Wednesday, Shah appeared confident that no upheaval could stop the assemblies from completing their time span."I am confident that the assemblies will complete their period and the senate elections will also be held according to the schedule," he said.
However, he expressed that if any of the provincial assemblies was dissolved than the senate elections would be put in the trouble.
The opposition leader recalled that when the parliament was attacked by a protesting mob in 2015, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) defended the institution and prevented dissolving of the assemblies.
Shah observed that the change of Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri and the no confidence vote against him was part of the democratic process. Responding to a question, he said Sindh government had complied with Sindh High Court's order with regard to the appointment of Inspector General of Sindh police. The local leader of PPP Hyderabad chapter were present on the occasion.
