TB Awareness Walk Held At Faisalabad

An awareness walk to mark the World Tuberculosis Day was held here on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani led the walk which started from District Health Development Centre and culminated at District Council Chowk.

CEO District Health Authority Dr.Zafar Abbas, DHO Dr. Muhammad Asif Shahzad, MS National Hospital Dr. Rana Imran Ali, Dr. Bilal Ahmad, Dr. Saqib Munir, doctors, paramedics and representatives of civil society also participated in the walk.
The participants of walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans of preventive measures from TB.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani said that TB was a curable disease but proper use of medicines, good food and healthy environment were must to improve health.
If TB is not timely diagnosed and treated, then it could prove dangerous for health, he added. MS National Hospital Dr. Rana Imran Ali informed about the symptoms of TB and cure and preventive measures. He said the Punjab government and World Health Organization (WHO) were trying to overcome TB and eliminate tuberculosis was a slogan of the year in this regard.
