Polio Eradication Campaign Continues In Hyderabad

Three day anti- polio campaign which began on Tuesday in all four Talukas of Hyderabad district remained in progress on Wednesday while vaccinators continued administering the anti-polio drops to children under five years of age
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2017 ) :Three day anti- polio campaign which began on Tuesday in all four Talukas of Hyderabad district remained in progress on Wednesday while vaccinators continued administering the anti-polio drops to children under five years of age.
Besides door to door vaccination by 957 mobile vaccination teams formed by the district health department for Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural Talukas, the anti-polio drops are also being administered at 115 fixed points and 23 transit points of the district, informed Dr.
Masood Jaferi, the district Focal Person.
He informed that 73 Union Council Medical Officers were also taking part in immunization of anti-polio drops to children while the performance of the campaign is being monitored through 234 area In-charges and 11 taluka supervisors.
Besides immunizing the anti-polio drops, he informed that the vaccination teams are also administering the drops of Vitamin A to children of 11 months up to 59 months. The drops of Vitamin A are being administered to children of 6 to 11 months from blue color capsules while red color capsules are being used for children from 12 to 59 months of age, he added.
