MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2018 ) :The toll of seasonal influenza cases rose to 22 with demise of an elderly male patient and a female who were tested positive here at Nishtar hospital.
Nishtar hospital Focal person for infectious diseases, Dr Irfan Arshad told APP on Tuesday that Muhammad Amin (80) and Bilqees (45) were confirmed seasonal influenza patients.
Amin breathed his last at Isolation ward while Bilqees died at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Tuesday, he said.
Dr Irfan stated that a total of 34 patients were still admitted at the health facility including 30 at isolation ward and four at ICU, adding that out of whom 17 were confirmed positive, two were negative while clinical reports of 15 are awaited.
As many as 176 seasonal influenza suspected patients have reported at Nishtar hospital during the last four weeks, the focal person informed, adding that 121 were discharged after treatment.
