Lahore, (Pakistan Point News – 5th October, 2016) : World Teachers’ Day is being observed around the globe including Pakistan today. The day is being observed to help create mass awareness about the important role that teachers play in any society and to help generate support for them. Its aim is to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. According to UNESCO, World Teachers' Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding, and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
This year’s theme is “Valuing Teachers, Improving their Status”. World Teachers’ Day also aims to foster understanding and appreciate the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, in his message on World Teachers’ Day, called teacher a spiritual father who imparts education to the nation.
