RAWALPINDI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Dec, 2017 ) :Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has organized third Women Entrepreneurship Fair.
It was arranged to bring together aspiring and current women business owners and entrepreneurs from diverse ages, educational levels and industries for networking and bench-marking. At the same time, it assisted to instill an entrepreneurial spirit and underscore the worth of this spirit in students, community organizations and businesses.
Shireen Arshad Khan, Former Member National Assembly who was also the recipient of the Best Women Entrepreneur Award was the chief guest of the ceremony. More than 65 stalls were displayed by the exhibitors including, FJWU current students, alumni and established business women from twin cities.
A large number of visitors including students, women and children attended this event. Display of the products and services including personality assessment, pottery, paintings, sports, photography, color carnival, clothing, bedding, jewelry, handicrafts and food items were displayed.
Motivational session was also part of the fair to motivate the students and young business women of twin cities for establishment of their business and guide them that how they can become successful entrepreneurs.
During this session, Izzah Ahmed from Juicy Gossip, Maha Noor of Maha Design Photography, Connected Pakistan's owner Anum Zulifqar and other dignitaries delivered lectures on women entrepreneurship.
The event has become the largest festival of experienced and potential women innovators and job creators driving economic growth and expanding women leadership role through display of product and services.
Vice Chancellor, FJWU, Prof Dr. Samina Amin Qadir on the occasion said that, in the coming years, the students of FJWU would become job providers instead of job seekers. She emphasized that entrepreneurs can play a vital role in the development of the country by taking moderate amount of risk, being ethical and socially responsible.
She said that entrepreneurship has its importance in corporate sector as well as social sector. No doubt, entrepreneurship is profit generating but, yet responsible to give back to the society, and develop civic sense and character building characteristics.
Addressing the audience Shireen Arshad Khan said that women despite difficulties kept their businesses alive. She admired women entrepreneurs and saluted the heroism of women saying no nation could reach to the glorious heights unless its women work side by side with men.
