Tokyo stocks close down as Spain attack jolts markets

Tokyo stocks closed lower on Friday, following sharp falls in New York on a deadly attack in Spain and rising concerns over the fate of US President Donald Trump's economic agenda

TOKYO, , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Aug, 2017 ) - Tokyo stocks closed lower on Friday, following sharp falls in New York on a deadly attack in Spain and rising concerns over the fate of US President Donald Trump's economic agenda.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 1.18 percent, or 232.22 points, to end the week at 19,470.41, its lowest finish since early May, while the Topix index of all first-section issues fell 1.08 percent, or 17.46 points, to 1,597.36.
