Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

Five ships including E.R Felixstowe, MSC Vittoria, Express Makalu, Yukon Star and Mezaira carrying containers, 29,149 tonnes palm oil and 54,855 tonnes diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2017 ) :Five ships including E.R Felixstowe, MSC Vittoria, Express Makalu, Yukon Star and Mezaira carrying containers, 29,149 tonnes palm oil and 54,855 tonnes diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
While two more ships, MSC Tomoko and Greenwigh Park with container and phosphoric acid also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the prot at 59% on Monday where a total of ten ships namely, E.R Felixstowe, MSC Vittoria, Express Makalu, G.H Chinook, APL Norway, trade Will, Majestic Sky, Thefis, Magia, Al-Huwaila, Bunga Angsana, BW Integrity, Caspian Gas, Yukon Star and Mezair are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, Sun Flower Seeds, Soya Bean Seeds, Coal, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling remained at the prot at 119,682 tonnes, comprising 92,170 tonnes import cargo and 27,512 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,925 containers (TEUs), (1,477 TEUs imports and 1,448 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Two container ships E.R Felixstowe and MSC Vittoria, and a gas carrier Al-Huwaila sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships Express Makalu and Mezaira are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
Four ships MSC Tomoko, APL Antwerp, Logonda and Greenwigh Park scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and phosphoric acid are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1 and EVTL respectively on Tuesday, while container vessel Maersk Pittsburg is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
