Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2017 ) :Brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where six ships, MSC Maria Elena, MSC Volencia, X-press Makalu, Yoga, Genuine Hercules and Leader carrying containers, 40,000 tonnes Coal, 10,500 tonnes Phosphoric Acid and 50,000 tonnes Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday November 13,2017.
Meanwhile four more ships, Yokan Star, Diamond-T, Al-Jassasiya and Diyaa-B with Palm oil, LNG and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Fifty three percent berth occupancy was reported at the Port on Tuesday where a total of ten ships namely, MSC Maria Elena, MSC Volencla, X-Press Makalu, Rui are currently occupying berths at load/offload Containers, Coal, sun Flower seeds, Canola seeds, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 134,367 tonnes, comprising 108,318 tonnes import cargo and 26,049 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,818 Containers TEUs.
1,447 TEUs imports and 1,371 TEUs exports was handled at the Port following were the highlights in tonnes during last 24 hours. Two Container ships, MSC Maria Elena and MSC Volencia sailled out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships X-Press Makalu, Rui Ning-2 and Genuine Hercules are expected to sail on same day.
A total of five ships, CSAV Tyndall, Maersk Chicago, Chemroad Wing, Yasa Aysen and Al-Jassasiya carrying containers, Palm oil, Coal and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1 MW-4 and EETL respectively on Tuesday, 14th November.
