Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, Oct 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Oct, 2017 ) : Five ships C.V MSC Joanna, Express Block Sea, M.T Epic Sardinia, M.T Chemroad Haya and M.T Sovereign carrying containers, LPG, Palm oil and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, SSGC Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile another Gas carrier Al-Jassasiya also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was reported at the Port at 47% on Monday where a total of eight ships namely MSC Joanna, Express Black Sea, Da Dan Xia, Sinar Kutal, Epic Sardinia, Three Saskias, Chemroad Haya and Sovereign were occupied at PQA berths at load/offload Containers, General Cargo, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively.

A Cargo volume of 104,906 tonnes, comprising 84,006 tonnes import cargo and 20,900 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,900 Containers (TEUs), (800 TEUs imports and 1,100 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Four ships, oil tanker Sovereign, Gas carrier Epic Sardinia, and Container Vessel MSC Joanna and Express Block Sea are expected to sail on Tuesday. A total of six ships Express Block Sea, APL Charleston, C.V Maersk Kensington, M.T Al-Jassasiya, M.T As Olivia and M.T Lion-M carrying Containers, LNG Phosphoric Acid and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT EETL, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday.
