Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where five ships C.V MSC Esthi, C.v MSC Bilbao

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2017 ) : Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where five ships C.V MSC Esthi, C.v MSC Bilbao, M.T Grand ACE-5, M.T khor Gas and M.T Maran Gas Asciepius carrying containers, 33,000 tonnes palm oil, 1,488 tonnes LPG and 141,885 cubic meters LNG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, SSGC Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday, 18th September-2017.

Meanwhie four more ships, C.V USAC Al-Khor, C.V X-Press Makalu, M.T Kruibeke and M.T Ginga Oceiot with containers, LPG and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at sixty five percent on Monday where a total of eleven ships MSC Esthi, MSC Bilbao, Le Hw, Tiger Hong Kong, MG Earth, MTN Savanna, khoa Gas, Maran Gas Asclepius, IVY Galaxy, Grand Ace-5 and Fortini Lady are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, canola seeds, phosphoric acid, LNG, LPG, Edible oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling registered on upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 171,258 tonnes, comprising 144,392 tonnes, import cargo and 26,866 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,732 containers (TEUS), 1,318 TEUs imports and 1,414 TEUs exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V Bilbao, M.V Le He and MTN Savannah sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, M.V Tiger Hong Kong, M.T Khor Gas and MSC Esthi are expected to sail on same day in the aiter afternoon.

A total of six ships C.V X-press Makaiu, C.V UASC Al-Khor, C.V Northern Movement, M.V Ruining-2, M.T PVT Athina and M.T Krui Beke carrying container, 40,008 tonnes coal, 70,775 tonnes furnace oil and 5,224 tonnes LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Tuesday, 19th September, while another ship M.V Da Hong Xia are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, September 20.
