Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2017 ) : Six ships, M.V African Falcon, M.T Arcturus, M.T Wawasan Jade, M.V Good Hope Max, M.T Gas Chem Antarctic and M.T Maran Gas Asclepius scheduled to load/offload Cement, Condensate oil, Palm oil, Soya Bean, Chemicals and LNG were allotted berths at Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Grain, Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Monday.

Meanwhile three more ships C.V MSC Rita, M.T Improse and M.V Global Phoenix with Container 63,812 tonnes Furnace oil and 40,000 tonnes Coal also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at 63% on Sunday where a total of ten ships namely, Safmarine Nyassa, APL Japan, African Falcon, Arcturus, Rui Ning-2, Doric Victory, Good Hope Max, Gas Chem Antarctic, Wawasan Jade and Maran Gas Asclepius are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Crude oil, Coal, Soya Bean, Chemicals, Palm oil and LNG respectively.

A cargo volume of 113,650 tonnes, comprising 59,651 tonnes import cargo and 53,999 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,224 containers TUEs) 803 imports TUEs and 1,421 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.

Three ships M.T Gas Chem Antarctic, C.V APL Japan and C.V Safmarine Nyassa sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ships M.T Wawasan Jade is expected to sail on sam day afternoon. Five ships C.V MSC Rita, C.V MSC Mykonos, C.V Jazan, M.T Lincolin Park and M.T Silver Manoora carrying Containers, Chemicals and Palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Engro Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Monday, while three more Container Vessels Maesrk Columbus, New Ark and MSC Albany are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
