Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2017 ) : Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships C.V Priority, C.V MSC Veronique, M.v Da Liang and M.T Duhail carrying containers, project cargo and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Gontainer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal Engro Elency Terminal respectively on Thursday, 23rd March-2017.

Meanwhile another ship 'Berlin' with 67,144 tonnes soya bean seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy remoined on high side at the Port at 73% on Thursday where a total of eleven ships namely, Priority, MSC Veronique, Maersk Savannah, CCMA CGM Amazon, Gas Chem Adriatic, Da Liang, Ji Xian Song, Fu Ming, Duhail, Argent Cosmcs and Elandra paim were occupied respectively during last 24 hours.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the on Thursday where a cargo volume of a cargo volume oa 191,966 tonnes, comprising 104,509 tonnes import cargo and 87,457 tonnes export cargo inclusve of containerized cargo carried in 7,086 containers (TUEs) ( 2,483 imports TUEs & 2,603 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Three ships, container vessel MSC Veronique, edible carrier Argent Cosmos Song, Maersk Savannah and Priority are expected to sail on same day. Four ships, C.V Teno, C.V hansa America, M.V Berlin and M.T Shalamar and FOTCO respectively on Friday, 24th March-2017, while two more ships MSC Claudia and Safmarine Ngami are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 25th March, & New Ark is due to arrive on Sunday, 26th March and MSC Essina is due to arrive Monday, 27th March-2017
