Ministers Open Work On Mines Labour Hospital In Makarwal

The construction work on 10-bed Mines Labour Welfare Hospital started in Makarwal, district Mianwali on Tuesday

MIANWALI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Feb, 2018 ) :The construction work on 10-bed Mines Labour Welfare Hospital started in Makarwal, district Mianwali on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan, along with Minister for Irrigation Haji Amanat Ali, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony as the chief guest.

He said that the government was making all-out efforts for labourers' welfare. The ministers said that under the vision of Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Punjab Mines and Minerals department was working on modern lines and registration of all mines labourers was being ensured in this regard.

The minister for mines said hospital would be completed in 18 months with an estimated cost of Rs 126 million.

He said that Mines Labour Welfare Boys Higher Secondary School and Mines Survey Institute will also be upgraded here.

He also announced water supply scheme for the people of the area and promised to send a proposal to the Higher education Commission (HEC) for establishment of a degree college for labourers children.

The minister for Irrigation said two-year diploma course in the Mines Survey Institute would be up-graded to three years adding that after transfer of land, the existing girls school will also be given higher secondary school status. The officials of Mines, Labour departments, labor unions were also present on the occasion.
